L'Automne

While winter is fast approaching here, but I think Thanksgiving is the perfect time to think about all the wonderful things about the fall season. The leaves, the colours, the smells, the chill in the wind, the warmth of pumpkin-y baked goods, and the list goes on. Fall and winter are my two favourite seasons, mainly because I love the fashion associated with them and also because the mood around those seasons is so unexplainable and beautiful. I think Kinfolk did an amazing job capturing the essence of fall (as always) in this short little video.

And on a more personal note, I just got back from spending a fun evening with some girls from my community group. I am really growing to love all of them (and the boys too!) and look forward to spending at least one night a week with them. Tonight was a shower for a lady from Initiative who just had a baby boy. He was TOO cute. I can't get over it. I seriously should not be allowed to hang out with children, baby envy forever.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week, and for those celebrating, have a wonderful thanksgiving tomorrow!

Kenya | Sarah

Sarah was one of my favourite people I met in Kenya. She has an amazing heart, soul and smile. Every time I met with Sarah it was always full of hugs and smiles; tears and laughter. Her smile lights up a room despite everything she has been through. Sarah is a 70 year old woman (keep in mind the life expectancy in Kenya is 56 years) who can't walk very well because her bone splintered when she was young and she could not afford hospital fees. Her arm is also splintered so working is very difficult. And on top of all of that, she is HIV positive.
I admire the hope that Sarah has, because I don't know if I could after all of that. She struggles daily to take care of her grandchildren and relies on the community to help her out with food and necessities. Sarah can not say enough about how much Children of Promise is helping her and her family. I do miss her hugs. I miss everything about Kenya.

There is free shipping on all items in my shop through Sunday, so jump on it :)

{Kenya in Film}

While I still have so many photos and memories to share with you about this trip, I am just not sure how to put it into words. I am working on several different pieces about the different aspects of this life changing adventure to share with you all in the upcoming days. Thanks for being so patient with me!

But anyways, here is a video I put together of my time in Kenya. I think videos really bring to life the emotions and beauty of this trip. Hope you enjoy!

I will be uploading photos, no worries! Have a wonderful Sunday :)

P.S. The shop is still up and running waiting for you to support! 15% of all profit goes back to Children of Promise.

{Welcome to Earth}

Such a beautiful film, and a great way to start off the day! As of late, my life has been all about the coffee shops and the textbooks. Today, I am trying something new: studying at home. The way it is going now though, I will be at Cafe St. Henri in no time. I have my first final today, the beginning of the end! Anyways, hope this video inspires you to get out and see more of this beautiful world we have been given!

And, as always, a nice tune for your ears can be found here. I adore Johnny Flynn.

P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway over at the Little Lovebirds! It ends Friday, so you still have time!

{dusk at the canal}

Last night I went for the most wonderful (and needed) walk. I live near such a great area of town and it's a shame that I don't get out much. For the next couple of weeks, I am determined to make use of where I live. This canal is about a 5 min walk away and just look at how beautiful it is. I brought my book and my camera and spent some much needed alone time to clear the brain. The video is mainly just me playing around with the camera I just got. Hope you enjoy!

Do any of yall have favourite spots you like to go to clear your mind?
Have a great week!

{for your ears}

So i stumbled upon this great video and artist the other night and I just thought I would share it with all you lovely people. It just has such a great beat and this video is so fun. I really like the youtube channel this came off of. They do "Take Away Shows" where the artist are in a random place and just set up shop so to speak. Its so cool and such a fun idea.

This video is of Alex Winston, i don't really like her songs as much on CD as much as I do her acoustic versions. She is so talented and I wish they would not mess with her voice.

Plus i really love the outfits in this video.
