{humans of new york}

Have you guys heard of Brandon Santon's project Humans of New York? Recently, I have been really enjoying looking through all the photos. It seems to be all over facebook at the moment, which is really exciting! I hope he gets a lot of recognition for this amazing project. In short, Humans of New York is a project that is trying to capture the essence of New York City through the people who make up the city. It includes everything from babies to the elderly and everything in between. Personally, I really enjoy photos that capture the person and I think Brandon does an excellent job of that. I encourage you all to go check it out! Here are a few shots from the website, but to see more go to the facebook or website.
All photos belong to Brandon Santon, Humans of New York.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Sorry for my long hiatus, I will be back with a few personal posts soon :) And, Hello New Followers! What do you think of this projet?

{the makers}

The Makers is a project I have really been enjoying lately. It is a photo project based in Brooklyn where Jennifer Causey photographs artisans. It is so neat seeing people do what they love. You really get a sense of who "The Maker" is and get to learn about their craft. Check out her website to learn more!
You can find anything from designers to cupcake makers to perfume makers on this site. I would definitely recommend checking it out for inspiration! Hope you all have a great Sunday :)

{move.eat.learn.}

I saw these beautiful videos on vimeo the other night and just had to share them with you all! They are so inspiring.

"3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films.....

= a trip of a lifetime."

I really like the idea of traveling to gain knowledge about other cultures and to help the people of that community rather than the tourist traveling that aims to take rather than give.
