{for your ears}

So i stumbled upon this great video and artist the other night and I just thought I would share it with all you lovely people. It just has such a great beat and this video is so fun. I really like the youtube channel this came off of. They do "Take Away Shows" where the artist are in a random place and just set up shop so to speak. Its so cool and such a fun idea.

This video is of Alex Winston, i don't really like her songs as much on CD as much as I do her acoustic versions. She is so talented and I wish they would not mess with her voice.

Plus i really love the outfits in this video.

{what i wore: adventure edition}

Well it's been a while since my last outfit post, but school is nearing so GET READY. I am really excited to start adding a fashion section to this blog. This is the outfit i wore out to lunch on a mom/child date. It was just a fun day. We went out to lunch at the Corner Bakery and then galavanted around Houston to the Army Surplus Store and the I Heart Houston sign, which is so cool. Then we adventured around the art studios and just had a great time. Who knew moms could be so adventuresome. And here is my outfit:
dress: urban outfitters// belt:vintage// shoes: steve madden

These boots are my new favorite shoes and I plan on wearing them with everything! Hope you all have a lovely day!

{weekend inspiration}

I have just come across Ailera Stone on flickr. O my is she inspiring. I love all of her photos. The tones are so wonderful, and her photos really tell a story. Each one of them. She also has a blog that is quite beautiful as well so check it out. What are you inspired to do this weekend? I really want to get back into taking pictures more often, not that I have much time this weekend but hey everything is an opportunity right?

{trip to DC}

I just recently got back from the capital of the United States, otherwise known as DC. I had such a blast. It wasn't my first time going so I didn't have to do all of the touristy things such as walk around in really cute shirts that say WASHINGTON DC and wear running shoes when not running, but that is beside the point. I went to stay with my favorite person, my sister! She is doing an internship up in DC at the moment, and as much as I miss her I am glad she lives cool (cool isn't exactly the right word to use due to the extreme heat I experienced up there) places that i can go see her at. I am so proud of her and can't wait until she comes back home!
While in DC we went to this cute outdoor market called Eastern Market, which i definitely suggest checking out if you are in the area. We also went to this nice restaurant called Coppi's Organic. SO GOOD. And we also had to check out Busboy's and Poets, which i felt was slightly overrated but good none the less. Other fun things to do in DC, run through the Capitals sprinklers at night, run and get an Icee late on a Sunday night, take naps on the floor. I always seem to find the unconventional, unplanned things to be the best and most memorable part of a trip. Plus anything I do with Ashley is always fun! Hope you guys are doing great :)

This is my dad. Pretty great 100th post don't you think. I love you dad, always have, always will.

I also am going to leave a sneak peak of some pictures I took on my film camera and haven't gotten developed yet. My mom and I found this awesome house that had been built so nicely and then abandoned. It's windows were shattered and everything in shambles. It was so amazing and intriguing. So many cool stories we could think of. What do you think happened?

{surfin' USA}

Well, I didn't go surfing, but I did skim board, so I thought the title was appropriate. Anyways, sorry it took me so long to get around to posting this but here is the first few days at the beach! It was an awesome, relaxing and VERY hot vacation. I tended to stay inside for most of the day because I absolutely hate being sunburned. I got a lot of quality reading time in and some computer time in. Everyday, we went up to my grandparents condo to eat ridiculous amounts of good food. I didn't take very many food pictures, quite disappointed in myself. This is mainly just a post so I can show you guys my pictures! Not too much to say :)

I got to spend a lot of time with my family which was really nice and needed. One day, my mum and I went out to sit on the beach and I painted for awhile while she read. I also got to hang out with my cousin in the pool. All in all it was a great vacation, Thanks everyone :D
