{thoughts}

Just a few thoughts for the weekend {and possibly more links than thoughts, but that is other people's thoughts though..right?}:
I really enjoy getting mail. Handwritten letters are the sweetest thing. They show that someone was thinking of you and took time out of there day to write you something really great. This week I got a letter from one of my most favourite people, Megan. It was definitely the nicest letter I have ever received and she definitely thinks WAY too highly of me, but that is what friends are for. I really need to start writing letters more.
Also, a post that really got me thinking can be found here. I think we all have these crisis' and its really great to see people blogging about them. I mean, it's not great that they have to deal with it but it is nice to know you are not alone :)
I have started to read The Hunger Games. I said I would never give in, but that trailer. It just looks so intense, and I cannot, absolutely CANNOT, go see it without reading the book first. That is blasphemy.
You should probably listen to this song while you are going about your weekend. It will make just about anything fun.
And one last thing, a great quote to remember for your weekend:
"The minute you start enjoying yourself and the person you've become, when you walk into a room with your head held high, the minute you wake up and are glad to be you, the possibilities and opportunities will come knocking at your door." -Anonymous

{spring has arrived!}

The past few days here in Montreal have been completely perfect. It has been sunny and warm with a bit of a breeze. No complaining can be done here (well, i could have been warned so I could get in shape but thats another story). Not much to be said about my week but I have been out and about enjoying every last bit of sun I can. I have climbed Mont Royal, taken some long walks and even done work outside! Here are some pictures from my hike up Mont Royal. What a difference a week makes! Remember all the snow?

There is just something about spring that is so different. The mood is completely different than any other time of the year. Everyone has come out of hibernation and is full of life. I love it. Campus is bustling with people and no one is in a bad mood. You really just can't be in a bad mood when walking around during this time. Spring in Montreal is really something special. So blessed that I get to be here to experience it with all my wonderful, beautiful friends!
And the perfect song for spring can be found here! Hope you are all having great weeks! How is spring where ever you find yourself this lovely night?

Last night, on a break from studying, a couple friends and I cooked dinner together. My friend Camille and I love to cook together and try to new recipes. We can look at a cook book for hours upon hours. Yesterday, we cooked up a nice green salad with grilled eggplant, sun dried tomatoes,quinoa and roasted almonds with a side of sweet potato fries. It was SO good. How can you go wrong with those ingredients? I love getting together with friends to cook, or cooking for friends. It is so fun to turn up the music, dance around the kitchen and create something everyone can enjoy. We danced to some bad rap music, some oldies (Backstreet Boys anyone?) and a few faves my friends and I have. I might or might not have a playlist called If I Had a Cooking Show. No shame. Hope you all are having a great St. Patty's Day, don't forget to wear your green!

Also, if you have a pinterest follow me!

{farmers market}

Today, although a bit chilly, was a wonderful day. The sun came out just at the perfect time so my room mate and I went to the farmers market down the street. Atwater Market (as mentioned in this post) is one of the best parts of living in the area I do! It is full of so many wonderful, fresh, organic foods and a cute little coffee shop! It is always nice to get out on days like today and soak up a bit of sun, even if it has to go through your coat first. I am the one who chose to go to Canada, so what can you expect!

And a nice song to listen to while walking around a farmers market, if you don't have great company like I did, can be found here.
Do you guys like to go to farmers markets? What did you do today?

{blog button}

Photobucket
I have just created a button for my blog! I got the idea from The Little Lovebirds who is doing a button exchange. What a fun way to spread our favorite blogs around :) I would definitely check out The Little Lovebirds, I just found it a few weeks ago after she left a comment on one of my posts, and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. If anyone wants to do a button exchange let me know :)

P.S. I learned how to add image to my text from this cool sight with lots of cool tutorials! Here is the add image to text post. Check it out!

{exciting news!}

I forgot to tell you all that I have some exciting plans for this summer. I will be going to Kenya with some family friends, Rick and Diana. I will be working alongside them on their project The Children of Promise. There will also be about 4 other interns. I am so excited that I have this opportunity. Rick and Diana are such wonderful people and I can not wait to spend the summer working with them. We met Rick and Diana when we lived in Venezuela. They work on so many cool projects all over the world. I definitely recommend checking out their website.
This trip is going to be such a neat experience. The work I will be doing this summer is what I have always thought that I want to do in the future so it will be a good taste tester.

Hope you are having a great day! Anyone already planning there summer? What do you want to do?
P.S. Prepare yourself for the pictures to come this summer.

{perfect, sunny, Sunday}

The winter is melting and spring is coming! The weather is ridiculously beautiful, I have no idea what I did to deserve living in this wonderful city in the spring. I even am able to keep my window open now! That is one of my favorite things. I love having fresh air breeze in and out of the room. This weekend has been a relaxing one filled with yoga, reading and a lot of tea drinking. So, basically the best weekend, right? I know, I am the most exciting university student ever.

P.S. That spread on my toast is dark chocolate peanut butter. How much better does life get?? NOT MUCH. and of course, that tea is pumpkin chai tea.
In other exciting news, that rug pictured above was bought in Tunisia. Kind of cool, I guess.
In honor of the promo for One Day Without Shoes, I am wearing my toms. I did not want to subject you all to my painfully white feet at this moment.

A good listen for your weekend or week beginning is here.
What did you all do this weekend? Any good song recommendations, my ipod has been sad lately.

{too much joy}

This past week has been amazing. No particular reasons, just amazing. The weather has been perfect, the sun is shining, school hasn't been too difficult, I have gotten to see my friends, and the school year is almost over! The last part is bitter sweet, but I have just been so happy the past week.

Saturday, before a friend left to head back to London, we took her to Mont Royal. Mont Royal has a viewing platform that overlooks all of Montreal and is beautiful. I had such a fun time with Stephy while she was here and it was really sad to see her leave. It is like part of the furniture left! If your reading this, COME BACK.

This was such a fun day. We went out to Universel (which I highly suggest you go to if you ever come to Montreal!) to get waffles and then up the mountain we went. My friends don't like to climb mountains. Just letting you know. We also met a new Australian friend at the top. He was traveling the world. Whenever I meet travellers, I am in shock and can't wait until I can go on a trip around the world! Hope you are all having a great day!
